{"id":17150,"date":"2021-12-16T11:29:35","date_gmt":"2021-12-16T16:29:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.paawwa.org\/?p=17150"},"modified":"2021-12-16T11:29:49","modified_gmt":"2021-12-16T16:29:49","slug":"us-epa-announces-intent-to-strengthen-lcr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.linnflux.tech\/paawwa\/us-epa-announces-intent-to-strengthen-lcr\/","title":{"rendered":"US EPA announces intent to strengthen LCR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>US EPA announces intent to strengthen LCR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.paawwa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/US-EPA-LCRR-Review-Fact-Sheet.pdf\">US EPA LCRR Review Fact Sheet<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>EPA\u00a0announced next steps\u00a0to strengthen\u00a0the\u00a0regulatory framework on lead in drinking water.\u00a0Following the agency\u2019s\u00a0review of the Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR), EPA\u00a0has concluded that there are\u00a0significant\u00a0opportunities to improve the\u00a0rule\u00a0to support\u00a0the overarching goal of proactively removing lead service lines and more equitably protecting public health.<\/p>\n<p>In a Federal Register Notice, (pre-publication version available at the link below) EPA announced that the LCRR will go into effect to support near-term\u00a0development of actions to reduce\u00a0lead in\u00a0drinking\u00a0water. At the same time, EPA will develop a new proposed rulemaking to strengthen key elements of the rule.
