Hire a Vet…Helping Veterans Find Employment in the Water Sector<\/strong><\/p>\n

The AWWA\/WEF Veterans Workforce Initiative was created in 2018 to help connect military veterans with jobs in the water sector. The initiative provides Veterans interested in a water related career with\u00a0helpful information\u00a0and the opportunity to\u00a0network with a state specific liaison. It also provides\u00a0information for employers\u00a0interested in hiring veterans.<\/p>\n

We are seeking volunteers who are willing to help Veterans find work in the water sector in your state. This includes being able to communicate training, education, and certification requirements specific to your state, and help Veterans make personal connections to utilities, employers, training opportunities, etc. to help get them on the path to employment.<\/p>\n

Time commitments will vary, but most volunteers will spend less than 20 hours\/year on this project. Volunteer commitment can be 100% virtual and no travel is required. Volunteers are not required to be AWWA or WEF members.<\/p>\n
